In this issue, you can read, in pie-charts, a summary of your Town Council's Annual Report for the Financial Year 2008/2009.
We are happy to report that good management and improved productivity have led to an operating surplus of about $3.2m. However, the investment of our surplus and sinking fund was hit by the global financial crisis and we suffered fair value losses. I have written a note for you to read when you look at the financial information on page 4 & 5.
The Town Council wants you to know and understand these figures because the more you know about the duties, objectives and operations of the Council, the better you can help us make Sembawang a clean, green, safe home.
You may wonder what can you do as a resident. I would like to encourage you to talk to your RC and work with your grassroots leaders, caring for your neighborhood and building friendships among your neighbors there.
Or you could just keep an eye on things in your neighbourhood and keep the Council informed of your constructive feedback, either by phone or by dropping us an email via our new website.
Do have a look at our new website. It has some great features - like the free Town Classifieds.
On behalf of my fellow MPs, Town Councillors and staff, may I wish you a very happy, healthy and prosperous 2010

With all the new bicycle tracks and park connectors being built in our Town, we thought it would be interesting to see what route a group of cyclist would take if they used Sembawang Park as their start and finish point.
And much more to read!...
