Dear Sembawang Resident,
WE WANT TO HEAR FROM YOU …
We have worked towards achieving a seamless town and are well underway to achieving
this vision.
TELL US what you would like to see in your estate as we embark on our next
wave of improvements over the next few years. Your suggestion/feedback is important
to us. Email us at feedback@sbtc.org.sg
Complementing
the HDB's upgrading programmes, the Town Council has a steady
stream of town improvement
works.
To create a seamless town, more all-weather linkways would
be constructed to allow residents the ease of traveling
from block to block. In addition, many of the Children’s
playgrounds would be upgraded to introduce the new generation
of equipment. More multi purpose spaces, suitable for both
games and community events allow residents to engage in
play and recreation. They will feature facilities like
pebble footpaths and fitness stations. More Resident’s
Corner will also be constructed to facilitate social bonding
amongst the residents.
The Lift Upgrading Programme is designed to improve your
flat's accessibility and your personal convenience with
the lifts stopping at every floor. This also benefits
the elderly, families with very young children, and the
disabled.

The HIP helps residents deal with common maintenance problems
in ageing flats, such as spalling concrete and ceiling
leaks, in a systematic and comprehensive manner. It also
offers lessees a choice on the works they want to be included
in the upgrading of their flats. Flats built up to 1986
which have not undergone the Main Upgrading Programme are
eligible for HIP.

With NRP, residents will be invited to participate actively
by giving feedback and deciding collectively on the facilities
for their precinct at a public forum.
NRP, which
replaces IUP Plus, focuses on block and neighbourhood
improvements. It is fully funded by the Government. Flats
built up to 1989 which have not undergone the Main Upgrading
Programme, Interim Upgrading Programme or IUP Plus are
eligible for NRP.

Estate Upgrading Programme
Estate Upgrading Programme upgrades the public areas within
the private residential estates. Private residents can
look forward to new recreational facilities, improved road
facilities, lush greenery and more communal spaces.
The Hawker Centre Upgrading Programme
will help stallholders compete with modern retail outlets.
Some of the improvements
encompass new and higher roofs, better ventilation, as
well as sanitary, electrical and fire-prevention systems.
With the IUP, residents
can look forward to enjoy a whole new range of facilities
in the estate. Pavilions for old
folks to mingle, new playgrounds for children to play,
drop off porches and covered walkways to shelter you
from rain and shine, multi-purpose courts for community
events
and many other amenities.
The Main Upgrading Programme
brings many new facilities to your precinct. From covered
linkways and landscaped
gardens, to community plaza, and barbeque corners. In addition,
more, and better and faster lifts have been introduced.
These are especially beneficial to elderly residents. Residents
will also enjoy various improvements inside your homes
with dining room extension or the introduction of the utility
room.
